Embracing & Promoting Ethical Trading
Bunzl Vending Services was the first vending operator in the U.K. to promote the Fair Trade initiative. This was made apparent at our very successful Fair Trade open day, back in January 2004 at City Hall, the then Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone and over one hundred and sixty guests, comprised of suppliers and the press, were introduced to a wide variety of ethical products that we had decided to bring to market.
In conjunction with our supply partners, we flew two farmers into London from Tanzania to speak to our guests about the difference Fair Trade had brought to their communities.
Six years later, Bunzl Vending Services offers a comprehensive range of Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance products, including snacks, cold beverages and hot beverages, including Kenco coffee and Imporient tea.
We were the first vending operator in the UK to promote Fair Trade products.

Imporient Fair Trade Tea
Tea is imported in to the UK from over 30 producing countries. In these countries, tea is not only a commodity, but also a way of life. It supports a huge number of people, providing work and a focal point for communities and grower’s families.
Imporient (UK) Ltd is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP). The ETP was formed in April 1997 by a number of UK–based tea packing companies. It works to monitor living and working conditions on tea estates with the aim of making sure that the tea you buy from members of the Partnership has been produced in a socially responsible way.
